Talbot County Department of Corrections
Talbot County values the good health and safety of all those who reside, work in, and visit our county.
The Talbot County Detention Center has been in operation since 1992 and rated to hold 148 inmates. The facility is also the designated Central Booking Center for the county, having responsibility for the intake and processing of all adult male and female offenders arrested in Talbot County.

Washington College
Founded in 1782, Washington College was the first college chartered in the sovereign United States of America. General George Washington lent us his name, donated 50 guineas to our founding, and served on our first Board of Visitors and Governors. Our goal back then was to cultivate responsible citizen-leaders. Nowadays, we’re committed to giving our students the chance to succeed on their own terms through purposeful choices, enabling a healthy and regenerative global community.

Talbot County Department of Social Services
The Maryland Department of Human Services (DHS) is the state’s primary social service provider, serving over one million people annually. The Department, through its 24 local departments of social services, aggressively pursues opportunities to assist people in economic need, provide preventive services, and protect vulnerable children and adults in each of Maryland’s 23 counties and Baltimore City.

Our mission is to provide Career and Training services that will lead to employment that is relevant and supportive to the local five-county economy. We are committed to assisting employers by offering in-demand training options designed to qualify individuals for careers in the region.

Provident State Bank {PSB}
Provident State Bank is an independently owned community bank that was originally established on March 26, 1904, as the Provident Savings Bank of Preston, Maryland. The bank was opened primarily as a savings bank, but opportunities quickly arose for the bank to better service the needs of its community. Thus, in 1912 the bank changed to a state bank to provide its customers with all of the benefits of a commercial bank. Ever since then we have worked tirelessly to bring the members of our community a bank that they can rely on.

Upper Shore Aging
Upper Shore Aging, Inc. is a non-profit organization, Area Agency on Aging designated by the State of Maryland, serving over 31,000 seniors in Caroline, Kent, and Talbot counties. We develop and administer programs and services and are the chief advocate for the seniors we serve. Our programs function cooperatively to maintain and improve the quality of life for seniors, working to help them remain healthy and independent.
